Meet our Church Family and learn about some of the “fun family fun” we are having!

ONE HUNDRED YEARS YOUNG

Happy 100th Birthday, Credella

As a church family we love to celebrate with each other for the big and small milestones, normally surrounded by yummy food. However, with the corona virus concerns, we felt that it wasn’t in the best interest of all those we love, to get together and celebrate just yet. But we still had to do something… Sending a lovely flower arrangement was top on the list. We asked everyone to send us their birthday wishes for her and wrote them into a LONG handmade birthday card with 100 birthday candles. We sang a lovely rendition (hopefully) of ‘Happy Birthday’, and finally instead of hugs and kisses, we closed our very brief time with a word of prayer lead by the pastor. Please take a look at the pictures and join with us in the joy of this monumental moment!

May God continue to bless you Credella!!

trunk or treat 2019

FBCCS partnered with Camp Springs Civics Association on the afternoon of Sunday, October 27th to provide a safe environment for neighborhood children (and their families!) to come for fellowship, candy, costumes, popcorn, hot apple cider, and pumpkin decorating!

Enjoy these pictures from Trunk or Treat 2018!

MUSIC

Music is a large part of our church ministry.  Music helps teach us good strong Biblical truths.  Music prepares us to focus on God during worship.  Music lifts us and helps our frame of mind.

Offertory music

Jay Willis, our minister of music, graces us with a beautiful arrangement of Mercy Tree, music by Neal and Nordhoff, arr. by Gary Norian.

Summer Song Fests

On the last Sunday of the months of June, July, August and September, we meet at 4:00pm for “Song Fests.”  No program is set; simply call out a favorite hymn to be sung.  We are able to sing many songs which might not regularly be heard during worship services. Following each song fest hour we hold a brief time of fellowship and refreshment prepared and brought by church members to be shared. Come sing with us and share your favorite hymn!

Ministry on the Mall

We meet and set up an information pavilion near the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and offer bottles of cold water, information about the District of Columbia, and maps for tourists, as well as information and tracts to those interested in spiritual matters. We have participated in this ministry on several occasions in previous years. Can you stand some heat then come and join in! If you are interested, please contact the church office or the pastor.

Thanksgiving Community Breakfast

FBCCS hosted a community breakfast alongside our ACT (Allentown, Camp Springs, and Temple Hills) Church partners including Bells United Methodist Church, Bethany Christian Church, Oxon Hill Lutheran Church, Unity Presbyterian Church, and Southminster Presbyterian Church.
